2021 Revival of Ford Bronco Celebrates A Revision of History
The high powered intro hype this week for the 2021 Ford Bronco off-road 2 and 4 door mid-sized SUV, created a lot of excitement in a marketplace starved for red meat and action.
Like the recent revivals of retired models like the Toyota Supra, Jeep Gladiator, and Chevrolet Blazer, the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is more of a tribute than a historic restoration.
Though it takes styling cues from the 1966 through 1978 Bronco 2-door, it is substantially bigger, riding on a 100.4 inch wheelbase and stretching over 14 ft in length, nearly 2 ft. longer than the earliest Bronco. And yet it is a mere shadow of the hulking 1978 to 1996 big Bronco 2-door.
Offered with lots of customization upgrades from a starting price of $26,600, the Ford Bronco with a 181 horsepower 3 cylinder or 245 horsepower 4 banger, is ready for everything from casual off-road duty to wilderness challenges living up to its “Find Your Wild” slogan.
With a rock solid platform and 4×4 system from the latest Ford Ranger mid-sized pick-up, the new Bronco features safari style roof and advanced Terrain Management tech.
