2022 Genesis G70 Sport Prestige Steps Up To Challenge

The occasional automotive product or marketing magic trick will work in the short-term but the long haul is the true test of competitive mettle.

So when the 2022 Genesis G70 luxury performance sedan, the acclaimed compact wheelbase entry-level of the Hyundai spin-off premium division, got a refresh update just a few years into its latest edition, it was clearly designed to help bolster its public challenge to class leading BMW3 and Mercedes C series offerings.

The new G70 look is distinguished by the low-slung hood, imposing front grille, the slit-split-side-eyed LED headlamps and new rear lighting similar to the latest Genesis GV80.

With impressive performance in the 2019 intro, 2022 top-range G70 Sport Prestige with a rowdy 365-hp, twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6, this rear-wheel drive rig gets a new Sports Plus Mode for better competitive handling. Though the G70 0 – 60 stats are in the 4 – 5 second range the take-off and driving dynamics of the car give it enhanced sporting appeal.

The interior is up a notch with posh quilted leather seating, and an improved and better integrated central screen infotainment center, prices ranging from $37,000 to about $52,000.
