All New Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line Is In Hot-Hatch Pursuit
The Hyundai Elantra has always been a consistent big seller. And most owners of the car seem to be overwhelmingly pleased with this small wonder value sedan and coupe, still base priced just over $17,000.
In addition to a recent mid-cycle refresh to the 6th generation Elantra, Hyundai has upped its game as the all new sporty Hyundai GT N-Line Series takes a shot at capturing some hot-hatch market share from perennial leaders like the VW GTI, Honda Civic and Subaru WRX STI.
Packing a 201 Horsepower, 1.6 L 4-cylinder the new Hyundai N-Line adds sport tuning, 40 horsepower and specialty touches to the already impressive Elantra GT.
Though out-classed for power by some hot-hatch competitors off-the line, the Elantra value and long-term reliability equation is intact with the fully equipped Elantra N-Line coming in at just under $25,000. Compared to the $38,000 Honda Civic R Type the Hyundai is an absolute bargain.
For driving fun and performance the Hyundai Elantra N-Line multi-link independent rear suspension provides sharp handling, and larger front and rear brake rotors make for confident, smoother and quieter high-speed stopping power.
