Chevrolet SUV Line-Up Ready… Next Up Full Electrification!
Revamping the Chevrolet line-up with a stable of SUVs has helped keep GM’s flagship brand competitive at a time when the challenges have never been greater.
General Motors Chairman Mary Barra announces belt tightening, with major cuts in salaried employees, and an aggressive push to its first EV profit threshold, selling 1 million EVs by 2025. In 2022 total GM EV/Hybrid sales were 44,000 units.
Fortunately SUVs, pickups and even the sports performance models have proven to be strong prospects for electrification. The release of the new GMC Hummer 1,200 horsepower EV, Chevrolet Silverado EV pickup, the Corvette Hybrid, and even retirement of the iconic Camaro after this year to come back as an EV muscle car, has been a good model for the tricky transition from 140 years of internal combustion engines to hybrids and full electric vehicles.
Among the new crop of SUVs the midsize Chevrolet Blazer is particularly EV ready offering 4 trims ranging from $36,000 to $44,000. The sporty Blazer RS is only available with 3.6L V6 308 horsepower … while the other variants have fuel sipping 4 cylinder plants.
