Crown Jewels of the Legendary House Of Bulgari Are American Cars of the Classic Era

In elite circles of wealth and celebrity the name Bulgari is synonymous with spectacular and expensive jewelry and luxury goods. For Nicola Bulgari, the scion of this legendary Greco-Italian family brand, the pinnacle of design and craftsmanship is embodied in the American Cars of the Classic Era from the 1930s through the 1950s.

Starting this weekend and running through July 6th, some of the finest cars of the Bulgari private collection are on loan to the internationally acclaimed Simeone Automotive Museum here in Philadelphia.

While competitive factors have traditionally limited sales of American cars abroad, they have always been highly prized and appreciated by discerning international collectors.

In a statement announcing the Philadelphia exhibition, Nicola Bulgari said: “I fell in love with the Buicks. To me, they were a symbol of America. They are luxurious without being ostentatious and offer quality normally associated with far more expensive import cars.”

The dozen cars in the exhibit include Buick, Pontiac, Hudson, Packard, Nash, Cadillac, and Studebaker models as well as a 1930 GMC Yellow Cab used in the American film classic “It’s A Wonderful Life!”
