Acura MDX Adds To Long-Standing Record With New Bold Looks, Power
For 20 years the Acura MDX has been among the top selling SUV crossovers, and the first in the class with the now essential 3rd row seating.
The new 4th generation MDX follows its sedan sibling Acura TLX in a buff and bling revision backed with more power, performance oriented architecture, superior tech and premium amenities for $55,000.
From the exterior a big expressive front grille and completely LED headlamp array give the MDX a bold athletic appearance. The new platform offers SUV advantages of more interior space with the sporty style double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension.
Under the hood the 3.5-liter direct-injected i-VTEC®™ V6 provides a nice 290 horsepower punch making the longer and wider MDX feisty on the roads. New stiffer architecture, lightweight construction and structural adhesives help follow through on the promise of a fun to drive sport luxury SUV.
For safety 17.6% larger front disc brakes and an electronic brake booster for quicker response are complemented by a comprehensive collision avoidance suite and notably the new Acura first head enveloping catcher’s mitt style front air-bags that reduce brain tissue injuries by 75%.
