Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Goes Nose To Nose With Premium Competitors

The transition from rugged to regal for the Jeep adventure brand is taken to new heights in the latest 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4×4.

And while grizzled off-roader s may scoff, steady sales growth and intense competition in the high-end SUV segment puts this amenity intensive Grand Cherokee at the head of the pack in advance of the 2020 return of the flagship Jeep Wagoneer.

Aside from a nose job that refines the distinctive Jeep front grille, the most significant upgrade in this “hair and makeup” refresh is the interior, which most directly addresses competition from premium brands like Land Rover and even Maserati and Bentley.

Already swathed in Nappa leather with accommodating 8-way power seating elegantly finished in contrasting piping, a $5,000 Signature Leather Wrapped option finishes off the passenger compartment in quilted leather panels that match the seat bolsters, and extra leather treatments to the dash and console.

Despite its pampered luxury, this Jeep Cherokee takes to the road and overland excursions with gusto packing a 5.7 liter 360 horsepower Hemi V8. There are two lesser engine options but loaded with the Hemi the ticket rises to $64,000.
