Land Rover Defender 130 Goes Long for Adventure

With varied competitive driving experience from amateur rally racing to truck driving on the New Jersey Turnpike – the appeal of the SUV revolution comes as no surprise.

The latest Land Rover Defender, one of the earliest and most indomitable off-road vehicles in the world, is a striking piece of mechanized artwork. Standing tall, solid, and menacing in the full Santorini Black exterior, this extra length Defender 130 makes a statement of power while keeping the subtle elegance of the current Land Rover family.

The new Defender 130 full-sized 3-row SUV starts at $70,575 and tops out with a screaming 493 horsepower V8 edition at $118,000. A special Outbound adventure edition dispenses with the 3rd row seats in favor of cargo space and rolls in at $85,000.

The standard 296 horsepower 3 liter inline six cylinder engine does a respectable 0 – 60 of about 6.3 seconds.

Inside the Defender is both spare and creatively adorned with soft lighting panels as a respite from black on black. A 10-inch Touchscreen is central command for a bounty of tech, entertainment, safety features, and an especially effective front and rear camera system.
